Tyson Russell prides himself on being a second generation insurance professional. He was literally born with life insurance! Growing up in the industry (he works for his parents’ company - which has just celebrated their 25th anniversary) he really understands the ‘why’ of insurance. As a proud husband and father of two young boys (4 years old and 2 months old), Tyson understands exactly how a new baby in a family effects a person’s need for insurance.
Because of this understanding he feels it separates him from other younger insurance professionals. Tyson focuses on life, disability income, and critical illness insurance only. Tyson goal is to empower Western Canadian married couples in their 20s and 30s to steer their families clear of the crippling economic hazards of debt, disability, illness, income flux, governmental unpredictablility, and of course death and taxes. He believes that the vast majority of married couples don’t take these issues seriously. He has information that he knows will change the lives of married couples forever.
Tyson’s ideal clients are Central Okanagan married couples aged 28 to 35 who have kids yet haven’t had their first serious life insurance planning session. Tyson isn’t salesy and only puts appropriate solutions in place. His first contact with his potential clients is a 20-minute discovery preview that helps couples discover their financial needs and priorities.
On a personal note, when not busy being a Dad, Tyson enjoys studying economics, skiing, golfing, and has been known to run a half marathon if he has too. He is also slightly creative. Tyson wrote this poem to teach people about the different types of life insurance:
"Life Insurance for a 30-Year Old: A Poem" by Tyson Russell
Term has only a small fee
To partially offset a family catastrophe
And while whole life has its place
It's just a matter of pocket space
Usually what's right is a mix
Your life insured
Means a family well secured
Your insurance program is something that needs attention on an annual basis. Whether you or your partner/spouse have insurance through work or elsewhere, maintaining your insurance program is crucial, especially with a new baby in the home. If you would like a second opinion on your current program or would like to discuss starting an insurance program please give Tyson a call.
