Every day, parents make choices about the food their family will eat and their lifestyles. The choices that we make for ourselves and our families can make a real difference to our ability to remain healthy and active. Healthy eating promotes and supports social, physical, and mental wellbeing for everyone, at all ages and stages of life.  Whether you are planning meals for home, work, daycare or school, feeding your family, or trying to make lifestyle choices to reduce the risk of a chronic disease, a registered dietitian can help you.

A dietitian (or dietician) is an expert in human nutrition and the regulation of diet. A dietitian advises people on what to eat in order to lead a healthy lifestyle or achieve a specific health-related goal.  A registered dietitian (RD),  is a dietitian who meets special academic and professional requirements, including: the completion of a bachelor's degree with an accredited nutrition curriculum; satisfactory performance on the registration exam; and an internship at an approved health care facility, foodservice organization, or community agency.

We are lucky in Kelowna to have  wonderful registered dietitians that specialize in helping families maintain a healthy lifestyle.  If you need help with meal planning, meal ideas, recipes or want to make sure that your little one gets started on the right nutritional path from the first introduction of solids than consider calling one of these lovely ladies!
