Offering family centered service with a focus on addressing a child’s needs in a timely fashion.

Services are practical, confidential and flexible to assist in improving a child’s self-confidence and independence.

As a speech-language pathologist, Claire can provide assessment and therapy for children with a variety of speech and/or language needs.
Assessment starts with a consultation with the child and family, but may involve other health care or education professionals.

The following areas may be assessed:
a. speech sound production
b. ability to understand language (receptive skills)
c. ability to use language (expressive skills)
d. social communication skills
e. fluency (stuttering)

Treatment involves using games and activities that are appropriate for the child and target their speech and/or language goals. It may involve objects, pictures, books, toys, play or structured practice.
Family involvement is greatly encouraged.
Treatment may occur in a one-to-one setting, a group setting or by advising family, health care or education professionals in intervention programming appropriate to their setting.



Claire Wylie is a Kelowna based Speech-Language Pathologist servicing preschool and school age children throughout the Okanagan Valley.

Claire has experience working with children with neuro-developmental disorders such as Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Cerebral Palsy and Fetal Alcohol Effect and Syndrome She has worked with children with learning disabilities and cognitive impairment. She has experience working with children with a variety of speech and/or language impairments such as phonological and articulation delays, receptive and/or expressive language delays and fluency disorders.
